The name comes from the Latin for \u201cout of one, many.\u201d Although we have some traits of DID or MPD, our website does not focus on strictly medicalised multiplicity. Instead, Ex Uno Plures focuses on \u201cempowered multiplicity,\u201d or experiences of more-than-oneness in which collectives can develop working communication systems, confront past trauma together (if it exists), and otherwise live their lives side by side. For the past nineteen years, we\u2019ve been writing articles dismantling medicalised stereotypes, talking about the ways we\u2019ve built our life collaboratively, discussing the intersections between mental health and race (since we\u2019re multiracial and are read as Black), exploring philosophical interpretations of multiplicity, and examining other topics about what it means to be plural in a world that often doesn\u2019t get it.<\/p>\n<p>Although our site is primarily about plurality, we talk about other neurodivergent experiences (autism) and mental health conditions (bipolar disorder and PTSD), too!<\/p>\n<p>Our articles are geared toward intelligent, curious readers who know at least a little about plurality and are ready for deeper reading\u2014or plural systems who want to find out how to navigate life together and deal with its twists and turns.<\/p>\n<p>The site has been operated for nineteen years by Plures House.
